Les documents sont : un projet de table des matières de son livre, des renseignements obtenus ou à obtenir , avis à la population, lettres du Baron Paul Gendebien ,Sénateur Bourgmestre de Thuin, suite à son départ de la Ville au début des hostilités ainsi qu'un témoignage.

Deux échevins rapportent aussi les faits survenus lors de ces premiers jours de guerre.

Le tout se termine par des copies d'articles de presse à propos de ces événements.
